Caring Committee

ע֭וֹלָם חֶ֣סֶד יִבָּנֶ֑ה

The world is built on loving kindness (Psalm 89:3)

WHAT IS THE CARING COMMITTEE?

We are honored to introduce ourselves as TBT’s new Caring Committee. We are here to bring the mitzvah of chesed, the mitzvah of loving kindness, to members of our temple. We are here to support our community members in times of need, and to invite members of our community to show up for one another.

WHO AND WHY?

We want members of our community to be able to access care whether they’re brand new or have been long-standing members. We each deserve support regardless of relationships we’ve established. We also recognize the vulnerability and bravery it takes to ask for help, and hope this process can alleviate some of that stress.

Do you know someone in our TBT community who might benefit from the support of the Caring Committee? Please do not hesitate to connect them with Rabbi Mimi or a member of this committee. Our Committee is respectfully private, and will always strive to provide help when someone in our community could use a hand.

WHAT ARE WE INVITING YOU TO DO?

We are inviting each member of our community to offer their support, whether it’s the ability to run an errand or give a ride to someone else, once in a blue moon or on a weekly basis. By offering your support, you’re showing up for your community.

HOW IT WORKS:

Please fill out the form below to let us know about your capacity to OFFER caring (chesed) to those in our TBT family.

We will use this information to create a database to know what can be offered when care is requested. You will be contacted by a Caring Committee member when your support is needed. With enough people providing support, a single person won’t take on an undue amount of work. The more people in our care network, the better able we are to sustainably care for each other.

We hope you’ll join us in this important effort!
