From
preschool through the post-b'nai mitzvah years,
Temple Beth Torah's Morris Nirenberg Religious
School instills Jewish growth, involvement and
learning for your children and you!
- Early Childhood:
Weekly Beth Torah Tots is a
drop off class for 3 & 4 year olds led by
an experienced Jewish educator. Running September
through May, this class explores Jewish holidays,
traditions and prayers through music, stories,
arts and crafts, and pretend play. The Hebrew
alphabet is introduced, and a weekly weekly
theme focuses on different aspects of Jewish
life. This class meets every Sunday morning,
8:25-10:25am.
Imma V'Ani is a Mommy &
Me weekly program for children ages 18 months
to 2.9 and their accompanying adult caregiver.
With the guidance of our expert Early Childhood
teacher, children are encouraged to develop
a love of Judaism as they learn about the world
around them. Adults will have the opportunity
for socializing with their peers. This class
meets 15 Wednesday mornings from 9 to 11am.
- Gan (kindergarten) introduces children to
the joys of being Jewish, through holiday crafts,
songs and Bible stories.
- More formal Jewish education begins with
Sunday morning Aleph (grade 1) and Bet (grade
2) classes and continues with twice-weekly Hebrew
school for grades 3 through 7.
- The school gives each child intensive Bar
or Bat Mitzvah training and our B'nai Mitzvah
Committee pitches in to ensure every child -
and family- is prepared for this important day.
Tutoring is available for children with special
educational needs.
Of course, we believe learning shouldn't stop
at age 13! Our eighth graders participate in the
Telem program, taking part in social action projects
and learning throughout the year as well as explore
"Hot Topics". In grades 9 and 10 students
enjoy weekly confirmation classes with Rabbi Kideckel
designed to stimulate their Jewish identity and
help them to maintain ties to the community. Adults
of all ages learn to analyze Torah, read Hebrew
and perform Jewish rituals through our weekly
adult education classes and regular Sunday morning
"Nosh & 'Drash" sessions with the Rabbi.
All classes are taught by highly-qualified professionals
under the leadership of our education director.
Adult education and Religious school are open
to members only. All education programs are available
to the general public. Please call the Temple
at (508) 429-6268 or email
Education
Director, Sarit Ferreira for further information
or applications.
