| Dear Temple
Beth Torah Community,
I
was born and raised in Israel in the southern
town of Dimona and later moved to Kibbutz Ginnosar
on the shore of Lake Kinneret. My grandparents
were among the founders of kibbutz Ginnosar and
true Israeli pioneers. After completing High School,
I served in an intelligence unit in the Israeli
Air Force for two and a half years.
When my military service ended, I came to visit
my sister who lived in Cambridge, MA, at that
time, and fell in love with the greater Boston
area.
I decided to come back to attend college here.
I began by spending two years at Bunker Hill community
college where I took a variety of courses under
a Liberal Arts concentration. I then transferred
to Bridgewater State College (now University)
where I received a Bachelor of Science in Education,
with a double major in Art. I have worked with
children since I was 12 years old, and spent my
professional career teaching children from preschool
through 6th grade in local JCC’s and temples.
I now live in Attleboro with my husband, David,
and our sons, Ben and Ethan.
It has been my experience that children (and
adults) learn best by being involved in their
learning in a personal, interactive and meaningful
way. I believe that developing a Jewish identity
is a life long process of exposure to all things
Jewish. By experiencing T'fila, music, art, Israel,
holiday celebrations and life cycle events with
a Jewish community one's personal Jewish identity
is formed. I strive to create an environment
in the Morris Nirenberg Religious School in which
students have the opportunity to develop their
own personal Jewish identity through meaningful
Jewish experiences.
I look forward to meeting you, and developing
wonderful Jewish programming together.
