 Dan
Funk has served as our High Holiday
Cantor for more than 16 years. He has
been a High Holiday Cantor in various
area synagogues for 33 years. Dan has
been lead singer for the world renowned
Jewish musical group Safam since its
inception in 1974. Prior thereto, Dan
sang in the Boston Zamir Chorale.
Dan is a native of Highland Park, NJ,
attended Rutgers University, and received
his law degree from Northeastern University
School of Law in Boston. Thereafter
Dan practiced law as the Newton City
Solicitor for 32 years. Recently, Dan
has begun a mediation practice, specializing
in resolving municipal disputes.
He lives in Newton, MA with his wife
Marcia. They have two sons, Joshua and
Aaron, and two daughters Jessica and
Emily. They also have two grandchildren,
Chloe and Declan.
