Meet the High Holiday Cantor

Dan Funk is a native of Highland Park, NJ, attended Rutgers University, and received his law degree from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston. He lives in Newton, MA with his wife Marcia. They have two sons, Joshua and Aaron, helped raise nieces Jessica and Emily. Dan serves as City Solicitor of  the city of Newton,. Dan and Marcia are grandparents of a granddaughter, Chloe, and a grandson, Declan, thanks to son, Joshua and his wife, Lauren. Dan's musical career began in high school where he performed in a barbershop quartet, a choir and a rock band. After performing with the Zamir Chorale of Boston where he met Alan Nelson and Joel Sussman, he helped form SAFAM in 1974. 2009 was Dan's sixteenth year as TBT's High Holiday Cantor.
