Sarit Ferreira grew up in Kibbutz Ginosar, on the west shore of Lake Kineret in Israel. In the US, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education with a second Major in Art from Bridgewater State. Sarit taught preschool and worked at a JCC as Site Coordinator and NAEYC Coordinator, where she aided in the re-accreditation of the program. Sarit also taught Hebrew School and Judaics, where she earned a grant to coordinate a Project Based Learning Initiative and attended the Institute on Expedition Design by Expeditionary Learning Schools©- a program focusing on project-based learning.
Sarit joined the Temple Beth Torah community in July 2011 as Education Director. It is her belief that the development of one’s Jewish identity is formed by the assimilation of Jewish experiences with family, fellow students and the larger community. Sarit maintains this passion for developing an environment that encourages learning through creativity, self-direction and meaningful experiences for the students, families and staff at the Morris Nirenberg Religious School.
Sarit is married to David Ferreira and they have two boys – Ben (13) and Ethan (9), and a cat named Daisy. They live in Attleboro, MA.
